WELCOME TO THE HOME PAGE OF AMERICANA SINGER-SONGWRITER EILEEN BERNSTEIN!

Eileen has taken audiences up and down the peaks and valleys of life at festivals, songwriter showcases, and coffeehouses throughout the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia) and is excited to be in Nashville. “Endless Night,” off her No Place But Up EP, has been played on digitalrevolutionradio. Eileen's passionate writing and vocal jump style developed among lifelong influences as varied as Evanescence, Journey, Miranda Lambert, Katy Perry, Foreigner, Sara Bareilles, Keith Urban, Sheryl Crow, Green Day, Kacey Musgraves, and Gretchen Wilson. Fans compare her to Sheryl Crow, the Indigo Girls, Jewel, Sara McLachlan, and Stevie Nicks. A music career highlight was playing the community tent just before Three Dog Night took the stage in Havre de Grace, MD.

Music for the Peaks and Valleys of Life

This week on my journey through the peaks and valleys of life:

I now have my photo up on the wall at the Time Traveler’s Café! It is a Nashville tradition to post photos on the walls at music venues of regulars who often play writers rounds there. I am so touched to be a part of this tradition and of the music scene here. What’s a tradition you are a part of in your career or favorite hobby you are proud of? Message me on Facebook or on the website contact form if you like.

Another staple of the Nashville music scene is co-writing. I am really looking forward to working with three wonderful co-writers I am fortunate to have met, and will keep you posted on the progress of our collaborations. There are also meetings with publishers coming where I hold my breath and hope one of my songs is a perfect match for one of their artists. Even if the publisher loves a song, it has to fit both the style of the artist and the theme of the artist’s current project.

I’m working on a lot of new songs coming from major valleys in my life. That doesn’t necessarily mean the songs will all be sad, but rather, reflective. Admittedly, sometimes it is a challenge to put a positive element in there when the memories are particularly intense. Below is a short video on who I am as an artist.
